Set in Windsor Great Park, this part is open to the public. Its' present area was determined in the 1360s and was popular with Saxon kings as a hunting forest. The park is shrouded in mystery and legend and for over 1,000 years the story of Herne the Hunter has been told.
The park today is the perfect place for picnics, walking, cycling and horse riding. Accessible from Windsor town centre on foot via the Long Walk, or car parks are located along the A332 that goes through the Park. Alternatively you can drive to Virginia Water and park at Blacknest Gate for a walk around the lake, where you will pass a totem pole and miniature waterfall. Pass by the famous Roman Ruins!
Savill Garden and the Royal Landscape
Carriage rides through the Royal Landscape, Windsor Great Park are provided by Ascot carriages. Visitors can enjoy the experience of travelling by carriage in this beautiful area throughout the year.
Guards Polo Club, recent home of the Cartiers Queens Cup
Within the Great Park at Windsor, the Club is set in the outstanding natural surroundings of Smith's Lawn, which is thought to have been named after a game keeper at the time of the Restoration in the 17th century. Nearby are the renowned Savill and Valley Gardens.The Club was founded on 25th January 1955 with HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, as President.

Frogmore House, set in the private Home Park, is renowned for its beautiful landscaped garden and 18th-century lake.
Queen Victoria was inspired to write 'all is peace and quiet and you only hear the hum of the bees, the singing of the birds'. Indeed Queen Victoria loved Frogmore so much that she chose to build a mausoleum for herself and her husband, Prince Albert in the grounds.
In the Victoria Closet visitors can see works of art executed by three generations of the royal family - Victoria, Duchess of Kent, Queen Victoria, and a number of works by Queen Victoria's children, including Princess Victoria and Princess Louise.
The garden is one of the enduring attractions of Frogmore. Queen Charlotte had a great interest in botany and was given full rein in the garden at Frogmore, which she laid out with rare and unusual plants.
LEGOLAND Windsor is a theme park dedicated to children aged 3-12 years old. Young and old alike will be fascinated by the incredible LEGO models throughout the park. From comical camels to fearsome fire-breathing dragons, world landmarks to musical pirates, it's amazing what can be built with LEGO bricks - nearly 55 million of them!
The Thorpe park Theme is packed full of rides and is open every day from 10am, until the last day of the season on 5th November.
Dorney Lake is a world-class rowing and flat-water canoeing centre set in a spectacular 450-acre parkland near Windsor and was the venue for the Rowing and Kayak events in the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It also has an Park and Arboretum
